Wiebke Thrasher

(she/her)

Wiebke (Veep-KAH) joined the Bay Area Young Survivors (BAYS) board at the beginning of 2024 with a focus on Communication & Community. With over 20 years of experience in global leadership roles, Wiebke is dedicated to cultivating inclusive, safe, vibrant, and empowering communities.

Passionate about creating and connecting, Wiebke leans on her unique professional background in entrepreneurship, operations, business strategy, and leadership, to evolve BAYS existing and new programs. Wiebke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications and currently works at Cisco Meraki.

Shortly after her diagnosis of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), she was introduced to BAYS by her oncology social worker. Today, Wiebke cares deeply about sharing her cancer journey to help others who are faced with a breast cancer diagnosis at a young age. As a German immigrant without any family nearby, she was able to lean on the BAYS community offering a source of strength, support, understanding, and knowledge.

With her terrific teenage daughter in tow, Wiebke loves exploring San Francisco’s farmer’s markets, hosting epic events, spending quality time with their friends, and (re)decorating their home. Together, they volunteer often and look after their neighborhood. After all: A life without purpose is a life without impact.
