Sachi Rodgers

(she/her)

Sachi (sa-chee) joined the BAYS board in early 2024 with a focus on instituting operational efficiencies to support the work of the current and future BAYS boards and support the work of promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the BAYS community. Through her 20 plus years of experience in higher education, she brings knowledge of community building, event management, fundraising, stewardship and budgeting to the BAYS board. Sachi strongly believes in collaboration, that you can learn from everyone, continually seeks to be and do better, to find efficiencies, and leave things better. She hopes to build bridges with various organizations in the Bay Area to equalize access to the BAYS community and share the knowledge it holds to all individuals who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Sachi was diagnosed with stage 1b cancer in 2021 soon after her father’s terminal cancer diagnosis. As she navigated both her own and her father’s cancer journey, oftentimes serving as a translator to her immigrant parents, the resources and community BAYS provided led her to want to give back. She joined the BAYS gala committee led by Katie McKnight, and found leaning into this community to be a source of inspiration and strength as she looked to return to working full time.

Sachi is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute, formerly located in NYC and holds a MBA and a BA in psychology. She is a committed auntie to 12+ nieces and nephews, loves to cook for her husband and extended family and is a dedicated NY Rangers fan.
